Hello Readers, Linda here. Today I want to send a a Thank You out to the NFL Commissioner Mr. Roger Goodell. I myself have been a victim of domestic violence in my life. I find it very disturbing that these Pro Athletes seem to think they can get away with assaulting kids and adults whenever they want and they seem to get away with it all too often. I know this has been going on for decades but the time it really came to light for me was with the OJ Simpson trial. He got away with murder and it all started from that first push, punch, shove, unkind word, bullying and the list goes on.
It always starts with something little or minor or you excuse it as a mistake or whatever, but eventually it becomes a beating.
I believe Pro Athletes' wives or girlfriends really love living that plush lifestyle. I think they endure a lot just to live the way they do. It's really sad that they think that way and won't ever get the courage to leave. Some will end up dead and some hurt badly not to mention the emotional abuse that always goes hand in hand with the assaults.
The commissioner got a big wake up call recently with the Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson incidents and I believe he stepped up to the plate. He admitted the NFL made a mistake and I believe him when he says he is going to ensure that if this happens again, swift action will be taken. I believe him and I could see his sincerity that he had during his speech. I believe he is a strong leader and has done a great job managing the NFL and I have faith in him to bring the status of the NFL back to good standing in very little time.
After all, it takes a special person to admit when they were wrong and take the necessary steps to correct their mistakes. I applaud him and thank him for his effort in helping to eliminate this bad behavior and the athletes who practice it.
Xoxo, Linda
